For us, the home is the place where we spend most of our time. So making it into a location that supports our work, hobbies and fun stuff only seems natural. In addition, we have taken on the goal to making our home a base camp or possibly a stopping off place for friends and family to stay for some time while passing through to other destinations, maybe visiting the local sites, or celebrating a holiday with us. What started out as a small ranch style house built in the 1970's is now a three plus level home with some out buildings, good size patio and still has a lot of lawn. We have certainly not gone the way of the tiny house -- we have embraced having space. Our home is a mix of old imperfections and new dreams that we believe meets our functional needs.

Hobby Shop Build:

Shop A place for Woodworking equipment, bikes and kayaks.

Garden Shed Build:

Shed For lawn/landscape maintenance tools and lawn chemicals. This has also become our excess storage space that has meant the difference in being able to still park the car in the garage.

Home Addition:

Shop New master bedroom, laundry room, bathrooms and great room.

Deck Build

Shop Deck off master bedroom with access to back yard from upstairs. We really like our back yard. This deck is the vantage point that tells us when it is time to mow the lawn, trim the trees or that the squirrels are getting unruly.

Rock Fountain

Rock Fountain This creates sound of water in the backyard without the maintenance of a pond. It has become a popular bird bath.

Driveways

Driveway Places for vehicles to go.  This fits the goal of less lawn, less mud and creating lower maintenance areas.

Patio Pavers

Patio Getting rid of more mud, putting in hard surfaces where we tend to walk a lot and provide for outside group gatherings.

Front Raised Bed

Raised Bed The addition of a raise bed provides privacy for front house window, bench seat and landscape opportunities that draw our attentions to front of the house. When we look out the front window, we want to see the decorative foliage, flowers and bees.
